Podiatry

Podiatry addresses both congenital and acquired, functional and structural foot conditions. Foot examination is essential not only for accurately assessing movement-related difficulties (such as problems with walking), but also for identifying the root causes of back pain – including lumbar and cervical spine issues.

Podiatry focuses directly on the feet, offering both static and dynamic evaluations, and treatment using orthopedic insoles and medical footwear. It aims to prevent and treat painful conditions and functional disorders of the feet in relation to the musculoskeletal system as a whole.

The field includes comprehensive foot care, including mechanical and dynamic correction of flat feet and other deformities, provided by a specialized team of experienced medical professionals – including a physician, podiatry assistant, and nurse. Podiatry has both a preventive focus (e.g., screening children from the age of 3) and a corrective approach, targeting issues such as fallen arches, hammer toes, heel spurs, and calluses.

A key part of podiatrical care is the recommendation and provision of corrective aids, especially orthopedic insoles – whether static (partially reimbursed by public health insurance) or dynamic, based on a gait analysis performed using the RS scan system.
